Tree Plantation Drive was done in the premises of COUNCIL FOR WORKS AND HOUSING RESEARCH CWHR) on 30th June 2022, Karachi. The coconut plants are planted by Chairperson, Dr. Shahnaz Perveen, T.I., Engr. S. Amir Ali, SRO, Mr. S. Farhan Abbas, SMO, Mr. M. Yousuf, ADA and M. Asim Khan, Superintendent. After plantation Doas have been recited for the establishment and forward movement of the council. |

On the directives of President of Pakistan, a test report was prepared by CWHR in September 2010 for road materials used in different highway projects of Sindh.
Under the President’s directives issued during his visit to Karachi on 20.11.2008 and 21.11.2008, a reference was received through PCSIR, Karachi to carry out 17 Standard Road Material Tests on 24 samples retrieved from different highway projects in the Province of Sindh. Final report has been submitted and an amount of Rs. 200,000/- was charged by CWHR. |

Teams from CWHR participated in providing safe drinking water in flood affected areas of Sindh Province from 26.8.2010 to 05.09.2010.
As part of the Government’s efforts to provide immediate Flood Relief to the Flood affected areas, CWHR participated in the testing and provision of safe drinking water in Flood affected areas of Sindh in collaboration with PCRWR.
Two teams were formulated for water quality monitoring, chlorination of drinking water, distribution of Aqua tablets and identification/demarcation of safe drinking water sources for provision of safe water to the affectees after receiving training from PCRWR.
A total of 81 camps in District Kashmore and 58 camps in District Shikarpur were visited from 26.08.2010 to 05.09.2010 that served nearly 108,700 and 24,684 persons respectively.
7,140 strips of Aqua Tablets and 17,100 Oasis Tablets donated by UNICEF were distributed in the camps to treat and prevent the contamination of drinking water |

In July 2010, CWHR prepared a portfolio of 8 Training Courses for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
There is acute shortage of skilled manpower in the field of construction hence it is expected that the trainees will have potential for job placement in the construction industry.
CWHR has submitted a portfolio to Ministry of Science and Technology on request of BISP. The proposal contains 8 training programmes relevant to trades for the construction industry. |
